The Flexipoint Fire Protection System has been developed especially for smaller commercial businesses, guesthouses, B&B’s and buildings of multiple occupancy giving a cost effective way to meet Duty of Care and Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997.
These regulations now apply to all employers, whatever the size of their business premises, including houses of multiple occupancy or house/flat conversions.
Flexipoint provides a Grade C System as defined by BS5839 Part 6. It comprises of smoke detectors, and alarm sounders connected to a common mains power supply, with battery back up in all units with an element of central control.
Flexipoint combines several key components: ionisation and optical smoke alarms, together with heat alarms and call point alarms into a highly effective fire protection package significantly less expensive than full hard wired panel systems.
The BRK mains operated smoke & heat alarms are fully inter-connectable and are fitted with lithium back-up batteries.
Up to 18 units (12 smoke and 6 heat) are recommended to be interconnected to ensure that if one alarm detects danger all units will sound (including the call points).
The system, being modular, can also be added to or altered in line with changing business needs.
A Call Point Master, which includes a break glass and integral horn, is usually located at the main entrance of the premises. It centrally controls the Flexipoint system. In the event of an alarm the call point will enable the source of fire to be located quickly and appropriate action taken.
Flexipoint from BRK is guaranteed for 10 years, is easy to install and can provide ideal fire protection for a wide range of small business premises.
DESIGN AND INSTALLATION:
The components of the system comprise the optical type smoke alarm, 7010LBE, the ionisation type smoke alarm, 86RACHE10N, and the fixed temperature heat alarm 6230B10FP.
These mains operated models are fully inter-connectable and are all fitted with lithium back up batteries. (Please click on the links below for details).
The Call Point Master CPA8230KS features a key switch. In the event of the alarm sounding the key enables all but the triggering alarm to be silenced. This means the source of the alarm can quickly be identified and action taken. When the system alarms it "latches" so that it will continue to sound until reset manually using the key switch.
The silencer mode on the individual units operates for between 8-12 minutes.
The Call Point Auxiliary CPA8230AU has a separate silencer button. The unit can be used either singly as a "break glass audible alarm" or as a "slave" to the Master CPA8230KS. The Call Point units and smoke/heat alarms have indicator lights as well as audible alarms.
All Flexipoint components feature sealed in lithium batteries with a 10-year guarantee. They will continue to give full fire safety cover in the event of mains power failure.
